About Dr. Mascardo

Dr. Kathleen Mascardo is a multi-awarded, board-certified periodontist and dental implant surgeon dedicated to delivering exceptional periodontal care with precision, compassion, and integrity. Growing up in a family of dentists, she was exposed to oral surgery at an early age, inspiring her passion for periodontics and shaping her patient-centered approach to care.

Dr. Mascardo earned two Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degrees from Davao Medical School Foundation and the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated at the top of her class each time, receiving numerous academic and clinical honors. She was highly ranked in the national dental board examinations and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society.

After several years in private practice as a general dentist, Dr. Mascardo pursued advanced specialty training in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she earned a Master of Medical Sciences (MMSc) degree. Upon graduation, she received the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) Postdoctoral Award in recognition of her outstanding achievements in dental implantology.

Dr. Mascardo has since earned further national recognition from the American Academy of Periodontology as the recipient of the prestigious Dr. Mark Setter Leadership in Periodontology & Dental Implantology Award. This distinguished honor is presented to a periodontist who exemplifies exceptional leadership, innovation, and the ability to inspire others in the profession. Most recently, she was awarded first place in the National Osteology Competition (North America) for her clinical case demonstrating outstanding outcomes in the periodontal regeneration of hopeless teeth. This achievement further reflects her commitment to advancing the field through clinical excellence and evidence-based care.

With more than a decade of experience, Dr. Mascardo is known for her gentle touch, meticulous surgical technique, and compassionate approach to patient care. She provides comprehensive periodontal and implant treatment, including periodontal surgery, gum grafting, tooth extractions, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, peri-implantitis treatment, and full-arch implant rehabilitation (All-on-X). Her clinical interests include the use of biologic growth factors and regenerative techniques for complex bone grafting and periodontal regeneration.
